Employee Productivity and Activity Analysis

Project Overview:

This project involved analyzing the average time employees take to perform activities and their total productive time during their shift. The goal was to identify bottlenecks and understand the primary tasks employees perform using mock data.

What Was Done:

  1. Collected reports listing activities performed by employees from various platforms.

  2. Developed a dashboard to visualize the distribution of activities and measure employee productivity.

How It Was Done:

  1. Data Collection:

    • Obtained activity reports from different platforms, such as Excel reports detailing platform activities and call reports summarizing call durations.

  2. Data Verification and Time Measurement:

    • Verified the reports to identify which already included total time spent on tasks.

    • For tasks without time data, used a chronometer to measure the duration taken to complete each task. This was done over a study period of at least 2 hours, with multiple samples collected to determine the average time per task.

    • Ensured a diverse sample by including employees with varying tenures.

  3. Data Analysis:

    • Calculated the maximum, minimum, and average time taken to perform tasks.

    • Multiplied the average time per task by the number of tasks to obtain the total daily time spent on tasks.

    • Recorded tasks not measured by systems using timestamps in an Excel database.

  4. Dashboard Creation:

    • Aggregated times from platforms and timestamps, dividing by total working hours to determine workload distribution.

    • Developed a Power BI dashboard with the following features:

      • A graph showing the average daily workload for the entire team.

      • Filters to view individual employee workloads.

Achievements:

  • Created an insightful and interactive dashboard to visualize employee activity distribution and productivity.

  • Identified potential bottlenecks and primary tasks, aiding in decision-making regarding task redistribution and hiring.

  • Provided a clear understanding of employee workloads, contributing to more effective workforce management.
